Banks' Share of Annuity Sales Declines
American Banker (09/05/00) Vol. 6, No. 10 p.7; Reich-Hale, David
According to a study by Kenneth Kehrer Associates,
banks' market share of variable annuity sales dropped slightly in
the first half of this year. A lull in mutual fund sales is
being attributed to the lower sales figures for variable
annuities. Banks sold 11.6 percent of all variable annuities in
the first half. This figure is down from 12.4 percent in 1999.
