Union-Retiree Group to Launch Campaign Targeting Drug Costs
Wall Street Journal (05/21/01) Vol. 105, No. 20 p.B7; Holcomb, Henry J.
A coalition of retired union members in the Alliance for
Retired Americans and the Citizens for Better Medicare (CBM) are
planning events and lobbying during the congressional recess at the end
of the month to bring about debate on the increasing costs of
prescription drugs. The groups hope to counteract the pharmaceutical
companies' campaign with grass-roots mobilization through events and
direct-mail campaigns, says CBM Spokesperson Rachel Milet.
